Sitting On Top Of The Christmas Tree

by

It is such a pretty scene from the air,
A big tall tree standing there,
With lights shimmering bright,
It is a wonderful and welcoming sight.
My family is on the tree,
The drummer boy is drumming merrily,
The silver bells are ringing with joy
This is Christmas excitement for every girl and boy.
The rocking horse is rocking to and fro,
If you listen carefully
He is saying merry Christmas,
You know.
The candy cane that hangs on the tree
Looks all sweet and sugary.
The mice are wearing ribbons and bows
The Santa in the rocking chair is having a doze.
The tinsel is sparkly and wrapped around the tree
There is the snow that's falling gently
On to a stable that's hanging from a bough,
There are three kings and they have three presents now
There is a star, just to the east of the tree
And there is a baby in a manger sleeping peacefully
I must now return to take my place,
Yes, this is where I was meant to be
I am really glad, glad I am me
Sitting on top of this Christmas tree
Looking over my family
Bringing you hope, joy and cheer
Good night from me and my family
All now that's left for me to say
Is to wish you all
A very merry Christmas Day
