Christmas Wish

by
Jerry Young

I wished for snow on Christmas day
I waited for Santa to come my way
I prayed my stocking would be full
But none of these things came true

I dreamed of such a perfect time
For family and dear friends of mine
To share with people I loved so dear
Share time to laugh without a fear

No carols were sung, no pudding eaten
My heart was low and spirit beaten
My soul was laying on the floor
I cried out loud for so much more

Then something happened inside my head
I realised all was not dead
And hope was suddenly restored
I met my love the one I adored

So no credit crunch or fears of recession
Will bring me down, dampen my passion
My faith in life and Christmas spirit
With you beside me knows no limits!
