Christmas In Edinburgh

by
Juliet Wilson

White fairy lights draped in the trees

Ice skaters in Princes Street Gardens

Snow on the summit of Arthur’s Seat

Huskies pulling sledges round Holyrood Park

Wild geese by Duddingston Loch

Stollen* from the German Market

Ferris wheels

Mulled wine

A fat orange cat by an open fire

A Christmas tree gifted by Norway

Candlelit carols at St Giles

Cold crisp stillness

Yellow moon low in the sky

Perhaps hope

Perhaps peace.
